Chrysalis is the group for teenagers

On a Sunday morning, our young people often help out with music, dance, or teaching the younger children.

Twice a month, the Chrysalis group gathers at the church or at the home of our youth leader.

One of the regular members writes:

"We meet on a Sunday night, 8pm-9.15pm, every fortnight and we either have a teaching session, prepare for a youth service, have a social or organise a fundraising event.

TEACHING SESSIONS
Our teaching sessions are all based on issues relevant to our Christian lives - things that we deal with every day, or things we are not directly connected with but still need our prayer and attention. We also focus on our personal spiritual growth as Christians, and what it means to have Jesus in our lives.

These sessions involve videos, games, discussions, drama, craft - a wide variety of fun activities that relate to the theme of each meeting.

FUNDRAISING
As a group, we arrange fundraising events to help our church, community, and the organisations we support. These events include Talent Shows, Sponsored Events (litter-picks, stay-awakes, etc.), Church Fairs and many others.

YOUTH SERVICES
On the first Sunday of each month we hold a Youth Service, which is led by the members of Chrysalis. In our meetings, we discuss a theme for the service and decide what it will include. Although we prepare a lot for these services, they give us a chance to give our all to God and we are really led by the Spirit in the music, prayers, dance and talks.
